Bethany Sage Curtis
I'm the eldest of 5 and grew up in University City, after moving to Missouri from Beaver, PA right after my 7th birthday.
To the delight of my parents, 3 of us have settled back in St. Louis (Van, Rosemary & me), there's one of us still in college
(Micah, at the University of Dayton), and my brother Justin's family is in Indianapolis, so it's only about a 4-hour drive to
see Justin, Jenny, and my amazingly brilliant and beautiful niece Katie (who joined us June 2000).

In answer to the standard St. Louis question:
I went to Villa Duchesne HS and graduated with the class of '88.
I'm still pretty close to my HS friends, and have since become good friends with classmate Lisa Crowell, who married my
brother Van in June of 1999 (Lisa and Van's website).
I played varsity sports all through high school (volleyball, basketball & softball), despite repeatedly tearing my left quadriceps
muscle. Wasn't just a jock though: I was an honor roll student (lower car insurance rates for Mom & Dad!) and pretty much
was labeled one of the "good eggs" along with my other semi-nerdy group of friends (hey, I'm proud to admit I was voted "Most Responsible"
at my 10-year reunion! There's nothing wrong with that! Really...)
So in the fall of 1988, I headed to Washington and Jefferson College in Pennsylvania (an hour south of Pittsburgh),
where I ultimately recieved degrees in both Psychology and French in the spring of 1992.
I got recruited for the women's volleyball team freshman year, but that pesky
torn quad problem kept me in perpetual rehab, and after 2 years of fighting it, I admitted I would have to be satisfied with the role of team statistician.
Having gone to college with absolutely NO intention of joining one of those annoying sorrorities,
I joined Pi Beta Phi in the Spring of 1989...
... and later became the "Vice President of Moral Advancement" for this fine institution!
(Greek Week '89 Toga Party, pictured with "Big Sister" Susan Zerfoss).
After Graduation, being overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of crazy people in France that needed mental assistance, I switched careers, a few times...
To make a long story short, for the last year and a half I've dedicated myself to the indemnity
protection needs of the institutions that give stability to our proud nation and standard of living (i.e. corporate insurance broker for
Lockton Companies).
